The Racepak IQ3 data logger system is and expandable system that offers both a backlite dash and combined GPS/accelerometer data logging facilities. Just about anything you care to name can be logged by add on modules to the Vnet based logger. If you want to use it as a standalone system, you only need to connect power, earth, two switches and an RPM input (optional but required for tacho to work).
With up to 4 selectable pages of information to display, adjustable warning lights, inbuilt shift lights this dash can replace a number of different guages currently in your car and provide the data logging capabilities of a 3-axis accelerometer as well as a GPS based track mapping system. For those drag racers out there, the GPS actually allows you to calculate the amount of slip (from wheelspin or clutch) by comparing the GPS speed to the wheel speed. By minimising the amount of slip, you can measure improvements in performance with different launch techniques.
With a massive range of sensors, we recommend getting as much information from your ECU as possible by using an ECU interface module if there is one that supports your ECU. If your ECU is not supported, you can still utilise some sensors such as water temp by connecting them to the Racepak IQ3 Universal Sensor Module (USM) as well as the ECU generally without interfering with the ECU operation and avoiding another sensor purchase and installation. Discuss your requirements with us and we can advise how this can be done. The USM allows connection of up to 4 sensors of virtually any calibration type and it is by far the most inexpensive way of adding a number of sensors to your IQ3 setup.
